God’s Garden
Jesus calls His Father the Gardener and refers to creation to help us think about our own lives. The whole of creation is God’s Garden, a wonderful gift for humanity and we are part of His creation too. Using imaginative, creative and practical ways in quietness, this retreat aims to be a prayer from beginning to end to discover more of who we are through God’s Garden, meeting with Him along the way in the beautiful surroundings of Whalley Abbey.
Reverend Hilary Murphy is a spiritual director, local coordinator for World Community for Christian Meditation and is part of the Vine community at Whalley Abbey. Having lived in the bush off grid in South Africa, and serving extensively in the townships developed a deep gratitude for God’s provision through God’s creation and nurtured her identity as part of His creation. She is passionate about God’s presence in creation. The creativity of Ignatian spirituality has deepened her contemplative life.
