'Singing Together' is a practical workshop hosted by Rev Gary O'Neill. Together we will explore singing in worship and what is means to be the people of God. Using songs from around the world, and focusing initially on making music with minimal resources, the workshop will explore how we encourage the people of God to sing. We will explore how what we sing shapes our belief and how what we believe informs our choices when singing.
Today's workshop will include the practical workshop, lunch and refreshments. The day will finish with a service of evening prayer using music we have learned during the day and introducing Marty Haugen’s Holden Evening Prayer.
There will be much discussion in this workshop and also a lot of singing. You do not need to read music or sing in a choir to join in and even non singers will find much to interest them, so if you simply enjoy singing do come along and bring your friends.
Tickets for the day event are available at £30.00 and includes an assembly copy of Holden Evening Prayer.
The day retreat also includes tea/coffee and pastries plus lunch in the refectory.
