Quiet Day - Knit to Pray - led by Rachael Sterrett and Rachel-Ann Powers

Knit to Pray

A day to explore the connection between prayer and knitting. Participants will have the opportunity to knit and to participate in meditation exercises, as well as discuss experiences of practicing the art of prayer and the art of knitting. The workshop is aimed at participants who can already knit, and knitting will not be taught during this workshop.

Rachael Sterrett and Rachel-Ann Powers both live in Lancaster. Rachael works at Lancaster University and is qualified as a coach. She has been knitting for many years, and designs her own patterns and runs occasional knitting workshops. Knitting has also become an aid to prayer for Rachael in recent years. Rachel-Ann trained as a textile designer and has worked as a freelance designer-maker in textile and print mediums as well exploring the role of craft practices to aid worship.
