Quiet Day - Knit to Pray: Interwoven - led by Rachael Sterrett and Rachel-Ann Powers

Knit to Pray: Interwoven

An opportunity to explore the intersection of the stories of our knitting with the stories of our faith. The day will provide a chance for those who enjoy knitting to spend time with other knitters in the beautiful setting of Whalley Abbey. As well as knitting together and talking about projects the day will include times of collective prayer and reflection, as well as spaces for solitude if desired. The input is different from the previous knitting day, so those who came last time will find new thoughts.

Participants are asked to bring a pair of knitting needles and wool as well as an ongoing knitting project - something simple and undemanding. The workshop is aimed at participants who can already knit at some level, as we will not be teaching knitting during this workshop.

Rachael Sterrett and Rachel-Ann Powers both live in Lancaster. Rachael works at Lancaster University and is qualified as a coach. She has been knitting for many years, and designs her own patterns and runs occasional knitting workshops. Knitting has also become an aid to prayer for Rachael in recent years. Rachel-Ann trained as a textile designer and has worked as a freelance designer-maker in textile and print mediums as well exploring the role of craft practices to aid worship and meditation.

Book the date in your calendar! The booking link will be added very soon. The cost for this event will be £36.
